The next Town Council Planning meeting has been announced for Monday 22nd May at 18:30 at the Younghayes Centre.
The Agenda includes mostly administrative items (this is the first Planning meeting of the new Council after the elections), but does include these items you might be interested in:
Devon County Council – Proposed Parking Restrictions
To consider the County Council’s proposed Annual Local Waiting Restriction Programme for the East Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC)
My comments: This is related to the implementation of ‘Yellow Lines’ discussed here and visualised here
East Devon District Council – Locations for Street Parking
To consider suitable alternative street trading locations during the ongoing town centre development
My comments: As you might be aware traders use the area around Court Royal and just off there at present but if you ever go down to the new Town Centre area you’ll notice it’s not as easy as it used to be due to the development hence this item.
As for the rest…
Beyond those 2 items above, the rest of this meeting is largely ‘administrative’ – acceptance of previous meeting minutes, agreeing the terms of reference (agreeing what the scope/purpose etc is of the committee – a formality really for planning as it’s reasonably clear what the purpose would be for!) & some routine reports. Nothing too exciting and I wouldn’t expect this meeting to be particularly long – but as ever, the public are welcome to attend & there is a space if you have any questions you’d like to ask those present.
