Town Centre

Residents have been waiting a long time for a town centre and associated basic services and facilities.

Overview

The long-awaited town centre is finally under development, although for many it isn’t really clear what is expected other than a supermarket (which is – *shock horror* – finally happening and you can see it in development – something many residents had given up hope of ever happening in Cranbrook). Joking aside though, this isn’t going to be everything people were expecting or promised and it is a long long way from ‘mission accomplished’ on delivering the amenities people demand, quite rightly expect in a town that’s still growing and I want to help keep pushing to get more done. It’s a tedious, long process, but it needs your voice to be heard too

Voting for me helps because East Devon District Council have a massive say in all the development in Cranbrook, and being one of the District Councillors representing Cranbrook means I can ensure your voice, needs and wants are taken into consideration better, and make sure they’re hearing from a wider range of the community so that there is something for everyone.

The simple reality is, despite progress finally being made on a Supermarket and some other Town Centre facilities, the residents of Cranbrook want more, and don’t want to have to leave the town every time they want to do something!

When I surveyed people it was one of the top issues, and when I talk to people and people don’t feel satisfied with what is happening, often don’t feel they understand what they are getting, or when they can ever expect to get things they were promised a decade ago.
